Victorian Maiden GO now closed!

The Victorian maiden group order is now closed! Thanks to all who participated! We will be in continued contact with all of you individually regarding your items and payment.

Those of you who missed out, we will do more group orders for our various brands in the future.

For posterity's sake, the original info on this group order is below.

---------------------------------------

So as we wait for our orders from Atelier Pierrot, SPR and ALGONQUINS to arrive (all coming!), we're still signing up additional brands. We just signed a contract with one of Japan's largest classic Lolita brands Victorian Maiden, who we'll be carrying in our store soon. As you know, they don't do overseas shipping and there are limited options for buying their clothes in the United States, so we hope you guys are as excited about this as we are! For our first order with them, we'd like to do a group order since we'll only be carrying a limited stock at first. We want you guys to get exactly what you want! We're relatively new around here but you can see us listed as an official retailer on Victorian Maiden's web site here (scroll down near the bottom).

THIS ORDER WILL CLOSE SUNDAY, AUGUST 16 AT 10PM EDT

This order is open to all, worldwide! However, shipping charges outside of the USA will be handled case by case - we will contact you with the approximate rate prior to placing our order with Victorian Maiden so you can decide if you want to go through with it. Shipping charges within the US will be calculated based on weight and invoiced separately from the main order.

HOW IT'S GONNA WORK:

Check out the Victorian Maiden site: http://www.victorianmaiden.com/shopping/new-item.html

You can pick out what you like there. The nav is all in English, so you can easily find the categories you're looking for.

The entire site is fair game, with the following caveats:

  • You're free to select reserve items, however you may have to wait up to two months to get any item not yet in stock at Victorian Maiden.
  • We would prefer if you did not select sale items as we will probably not be able to offer the sale prices. If you select a sale item, you agree to pay the regular full price.
  • You can also choose items from Beth and VM, although they may not be as easy for us to get and with VM in particular, the prices may be a bit higher than what we list below. We will confirm with you before invoicing in that case.
Send us an email at info@tokyorebel.com with the words "Victorian Maiden Group Order for [your lj username]" in the subject line. Include in the email the following:

  • A direct link or links to the item or items you're interested in on the Victorian Maiden web site
  • Your real name
  • Your LJ username
  • Color and/or other options you want
  • Your email address where we can contact you
  • Your PayPal email address, if you have one and it's different
  • Your address & phone # (the USPS likes to have it just in case)

PRICES, SHIPPING & FEES:

US RESIDENTS: We will charge the Victorian Maiden price at the going exchange rate plus 10% to cover shipping by EMS from Japan to the United States. This should be simple and fair since it's the more expensive items that are usually heavier (it's also how we plan to price things in our shop). Once the items arrive here, we will calculate USPS shipping costs based on the weight of your items and send a second invoice for your shipping charges within the United States.

For example, say a skirt is listed at JPY18,990. With today's exchange rate of 95.57 yen per dollar, our price would be $198.70 plus 10%, for a total of $218.57. US shipping charges will be added to that. The exchange rate we will use will be the rate on the day we invoice you. It may go up or down between now and then, but it probably won't change too much.

NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS will have to pay sales tax on the total order.

INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTS will have the same formula and process, except that we will roughly calculate the shipping costs before we place the order with Victorian Maiden and email you to make sure you're ok with it before we send our order or invoice you. The shipping costs will be higher than for a US resident, and you are responsible for any customs fees to your country.

INVOICE & PAYMENT:

You will receive two invoices.

We will send the order to Victorian Maiden immediately after the group sale closes, on the night of the 16th (the morning of Monday the 17th in Japan). So do not ignore the closing date or assume you can slide in a few minutes late! They will then verify if they have stock on all the items, or if there are any other issues we need to know about. Once they get back to us, we will email anyone who has an issue with their item(s) and ask what you'd like to do. You will have 24 hours to respond before we remove your item from the order. This is to prevent one or two people from holding up the entire process for everyone. (If this happens to you, we can add your item to our next order with them, but it might be a little while.)

If your item(s) has no issues and is in stock, we will send you an invoice through PayPal. To clarify, you will only pay us after we have verified your item is in stock with Victorian Maiden and ready for shipment. We must receive payment within 48 hours. You do not need to be a PayPal member; you can pay by credit card through PayPal if you prefer.

Once Victorian Maiden is satisfied that all issues with the overall order have been resolved, we will wire payment to them directly through our bank. This can sometimes take 6-10 days (no, it's not instant!). They will then ship to us by EMS, which can take 2-4 days. Once we receive the shipment from Victorian Maiden, we will part everything out and weigh it, then send you a second invoice for your shipping costs. We ship by USPS with delivery confirmation and insurance.

THIS ORDER WILL CLOSE SUNDAY, AUGUST 16 AT 10PM EDT

Just want to clarify. You are planning on stocking VM regularly right? I ask this because I have no money right now to join this group order but will be very interested in purchasing VM through you in the future.

We're planning to order some extra stuff, but it's not going to be a complete selection. Especially at first, it will probably be a pretty small selection. That's the main reason we're doing this, so people can get exactly what they want.

But yeah, if you have no money now, you're of course free to wait and see what we stock in the store! It just won't be a lot at first.

Darn! I would love to do this, but the dress I want from them is sort of...in the ether right now. It's no longer on reserve, but it hasn't been released yet either. It's supposed to be released in august. I hope it comes out soon!

What's the name of the dress? Not saying we can get it, but we can ask them what's up with it and see if it's worth adding to the order, depending on when it's going to be released. It's probably not going to be until at least around August 20 (if not later) that they actually ship our stuff, you may still be able order it and get it in this shipment.

I'm *pretty* sure it was called the Christine.

It was this dress, in the gray.

The projected release date was in August, if I recall.

This?? http://www.victorianmaiden.com/shopping/dress/christina-dress.html

The site says it's in stock in your color but then won't actually take an order for it. My advice: place your order with us, and if they have it, you'll get it. If they don't, we won't invoice you anyway, so no harm done. But at least you'll know...

Sometimes the brands sell out of things at their home office, but they might still have stock at their stores. So it's worth a try.

Oh gosh, yeah. Not sure how I missed that! I'll see what I have for funds over the next few days here, and if I can swing it, I'll definitely send you an email. Thanks!
